This New Technology May Just Save The People Of Korea

This newly-invented technology could make a big difference in the near future, especially to the younger generations.

Pollution is a global issue that every country needs to face and Korea is no exception.

According to the recent study by Yale University, Korea was rank 173rd out of 180 countries in the category of Environmental Performance Index (EPI). That means more than half of South Korea’s citizens breathe very polluted air, often in the form of smog.

Smog is a world-wide problam so Dutch designer,¬†Daan Roosegaarde, and his team decided to create the world’s largest smog vacuum, the Smog Free Tower. The aim is to deliver clean air to people for free and to reduce the many health problems caused by smog.

The waste from the machine (the compressed smog particles that are collected) is converted into trinkets such as, rings, cubes, and cuff-links.

The amazing Smog Free Tower in Beijing, built by Daan Roosegaarde, won the German Design Award for Excellent Product Design and was supported by China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection.

With the incredible power of this 23-foot tall air purifier,¬†maybe South Korea could make it out of 173rd place on the EPI and have cleaner, more breathable air. Let’s hope some South Korean cities are next in line for Roosegaarde’s tour!
